Calungsod image flying to Rome on Tuesday

The image of Blessed Pedro Calungsod is set to fly to Vatican City in Italy on October 16 for his canonization.

The three-foot tall image of Calungsod will be flying out via Cathay Pacific from Cebu City five days before the historic event that will give the Philippines its second saint, according to a report posted on the website of Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP). Palma to say mass with the Pope

CEBU Archbishop Jose Palma has been invited to say mass with Pope Benedict XVI at the Vatican City as part of the opening activities for the celebration of the Year of Faith.

6 Cebuano catechists to attend Pedro canonization in Rome

BEING a modern-day catechist is a “big and great challenge” in visiting parishes and schools teaching Catholic doctrine in different parts of the Archdiocese of Cebu.

“Sometimes we have one classroom with 60 students,” said 45-year-old Carol Arsenal, a catechist from the Our Lady of Fatima Vicariate covering Paknaan in Mandaue City to Liloan town.
