Crowds urged: Brace for mud during Calungsod thanksgiving

Mud and large puddles marred a big portion of the 27-hectare venue for a national thanksgiving mass for Pedro Calungsod’s sainthood on November 30, after last Tuesday’s rains.

Calungsod devotees told to brace for traffic

Devotees attending the national thanksgiving mass for San Pedro Calungsod were advised to prepare for traffic due to re-routing, road closures and a large number of participants from Cebu and other provinces.

Mass site 70% ready; Calungsod tour starts Friday

CEBU CITY — About P10 million has been spent on preparations for a nationwide celebration in honor of a newly proclaimed Filipino saint, Pedro Calungsod, at the South Road Properties (SRP) in Cebu City.

Work on Pedro’s temple hits snag due to late fund release

THE construction of the templete or small temple at the South Road Properties (SRP) for the thanksgiving mass for the canonization of Pedro Calungsod has experienced delays.

Church wants an SRP lot to be heritage site

CEBU’S high-ranking church officials have asked the Cebu City Government to declare a part of the South Road Properties (SRP) as a heritage site.

The request of Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma and Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal is connected with the celebration of the national thanksgiving mass at the “templete” at the SRP on Nov. 30, 2012 after the canonization of the country’s second saint, Blessed Pedro Calungsod. Santo Pedro’s mass will be at SRP

IT’S final. The national thanksgiving mass for the canonization of Beato Pedro Calungsod will be held at the South Road Properties (SRP), high-ranking Church officials announced Tuesday.
