SOON 2012 will be remembered, not as the year when Cebuanos panicked because of a tsunami scare. It will be written in our history as the year Cebu finally has a homegrown saint. This October, we expect the canonization of Beato Pedro Calungsod.
Like the impact of the news on people I had lunch with at the Holy Family convent yesterday, I am happy that we will soon have a saint much closer to home.
