Aquino wants Arroyo back in jail for plunder

MANILA (Updated) – President Benigno Aquino III wanted his predecessor, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, back in jail for a separate case of plunder filed against her by the Ombudsman last week.

Arroyo, who is now Pampanga second district representative, was released from hospital detention Wednesday after the Pasay City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 112 allowed her to post bail on electoral sabotage case filed against her by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in connection with alleged fraud in the 2007 midterm elections.
