THE Philippine government remained confident that the issue in the West Philippine Sea will be settled diplomatically despite escalating tensions between neighboring nations laying claim to disputed area.
Presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a press briefing Wednesday that the Philippines hopes to reach a “mutual and diplomatic solution” as the Association of Southeast Asian Nations is in the process of drafting a Code of Conduct on the West Philippine Sea. Read rest of story
