MALACAÑANG assured the Commission on Elections (Comelec) of the availability of funds should it decide to overhaul the voters’ registration list in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Armm) to ensure credible polls next year.
President Benigno Aquino III and some of his Cabinet officials met with the poll body in Malacañang Palace where they discussed preparation for the Armm elections to be held simultaneously with the national polls in May 2013.
During the meeting, Malacañang officials raised the possibility of annulling the existing voters’ list in the region and to restart again the voters’ registration using the biometric machines after the National Statistics Office informed the President of the alleged inaccuracies of the census of population in the region.Read rest of story
