THE exclusion of the Freedom of Information (FOI) bill from Malacañang’s list of priority measures leaves a Catholic bishop to doubt the anti-corruption slogan of President Benigno Aquino III.
Bishop Broderick Pabillo, chairman of the National Secretariat for Social Action, Justice and Peace (Nassa) of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), said the non-prioritization of the FOI bill raises questions on how serious is the administration in ridding corruption in government.
In last week’s Legislative Executive Development Advisory Council meeting, Aquino submitted a list of the 13 priority bills of the government needing swift congressional action. Read rest of story
