MANILA — “Bangkang Papel Boys”, the three dirt-poor kids from a former dumpsite in Quezon City, will have a chance to finish their studies under the Aquino administration after it pledged Wednesday to aid them.
Erwin Dolera, Jason Vann Banogan, and Jomar Pabalan were recipients of former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo scholarship grants since 2001 but they stopped receiving them when Arroyo’s nine-year term ended in 2010.
On Tuesday, Malacañang said Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman has pledged to fund the full scholarships of the three children. Read rest of story
