Filipina artist Lenore RS Lim is currently exhibiting “Calado,” her 10th Solo exhibit in New York at Tally Beck Contemporary, a lower eastside Manhattan gallery specializing in contemporary Asian art. The show runs from May 8 to June 21.

During the exhibit, the gallery will also give a presentation on “A History of Contemporary Art in the Philippines” by Tally Beck on May 22 and an “Artist’s Talk and Q&A” with Lenore RS Lim on May 29.

A beauty from Leyte, Michelle Angelique Veloso, is one of the candidates in the Miss Philippines Canada 2013.

The pageant is an undertaking of the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation. Final judging and coronation will be held during the Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada on June 22, 2013.

BEIJING, China — I’m gearing up for my second Chinese New Year celebration here.

Living in a country with a different calendar gives me a chance to start my year right.

I might have screwed up in my New Year’s resolution since the first day of this year but I can start working on my 2013 checklist starting this Chinese New Year.
