At least 480 people march in Madison Avenue, New York City at PIDCI’s Philippine Independence Day Parade on June 3 to form the first marching Philippine human flag, aiming to raise funds for 6,000 families affected by Typhoon Sendong, the worst calamity that hit the Philippines in 2011.

Organized by Gawad Kalinga-USA, the human flag is comprised of various Filipino and Filipino-American organizations and individuals.
