EC2 takes on small-size format

SEEING that big class sizes can make it difficult for students to focus and learn, EC2 Excellence Academy developed an educational system that handles small class sizes and experiential methodology. “We wanted to create an educational system that’s small enough so that it won’t compromise the quality of our graduates,” said Ray Nobleza, EC2’s founding director. At EC2, the teacher-student ratio is 1:4 (one teacher for every four students) in preschool and 1:12 in elementary. Nobleza is the first to introduce Activity Fridays, an off-campus immersion integrated into the curriculum as a way for students to gain real life experiences outside the four walls of the classroom. The teachers and students will be going around Cebu visiting zoos, exhibits, museums, among others. EC2 offers a full academic program for Grades 1 to 6 with courses on programming and financial literacy, as well as supplemental programs for Math and Reading and in-campus tutorials for all subjects. Classes start on June 14. EC2 Excellence Academy is at Unit 4-6, E-Park, Tigbaw, Talamban, Cebu City. / CHRISTIAN B. QUILO
