Who will be the first Filipino to go to space?

AXE, the iconic men’s fragrance brand, recently launched its most ambitious project that will bring the country into the space age: the Axe Apollo Space Academy (AASA).
The search for the first Filipino to be blasted to the edge of space commenced with an out-of-this-world party at White Space in Makati.
“Up until now, very few people have gone to space, and none of them were Filipinos despite the fact that we have a lot of them working in the said industry in other countries. Axe Apollo Space Academy aims to send our best representative, with the candidates chosen by the people, and we’re here to show how a man can go from zero to hero,” says Gem Laforteza, Axe Philippines brand manager.
Guests were treated to a star-studded celebration with the presence of Team Axe, consisting of TV star Ramon Bautista and radio jocks Sam YG and Gino Quillamor. Actors Wendell Ramos and Eula Caballero, and men’s mag favorite Ritz Azul were also sighted during the stellar event.
Celebrity DJ Callum David also dished out upbeat music at the after party.
To complete the hyperspace adventure, the event featured an exhibit of human spaceflight milestones that await the first Pinoy spaceman. The exhibit area was divided into four stations: the Levitation booth, the Launch Room mockup, a Space Hero’s Hall and a Trivia corner.
Guests experienced floating in orbit at the optical-illusion Levitation booth, and observed a replica of the famed Mission Control Center in Houston.
The Space Hero’s Hall featured famed astronauts, while the Trivia corner displayed several space-age technologies such as sunglasses, soft-landing rubber shoes, and wireless devices.
With Sexy Axe Space Girls deployed at the event, the celebration became the place to be for space-ready party-goers.
All Filipinos aged 18 and up are invited to join the Axe Apollo Space Academy, and get the chance to go where no Pinoy has gone before.
