Valentines at Pretty Estates

THIS Valentines, I would be very happy if I can spend it in Harrison Mills, British Columbia. There is a resort there called Rowena’s Inn, a very luxurious bed and breakfast. Rowena’s Inn is part of Pretty Estates Resort, Pretty, being the surname of the family who owns this vast track of land that has been known for bald eagle sightings. It is undoubtedly one of Fraser Valley’s most romantic boutique resorts. Rowena’s Inn on the River is a natural work of art. Nestled amidst majestic mountains and ancient fir trees, this beautifully restored English style manor overlooks the banks of the Harrison River. Manicured gardens, meandering creeks and crystal clear ponds make an ideal setting for a romantic rendezvous this Valentines.
Part of the charm of Rowena’s Inn is the fascinating history it has to share with guests. Situated on land originally granted by Queen Victoria, your guests will feel transported back to a simpler time with old photos, and old water-driven pelton wheel that still generates electricity for the Inn. Set in the relatively untouched beauty of British Columbia’s wilderness, Rowena’s Inn gives guests an enchanting experience with stunning views and the grounds provide a wondrous backdrop for wonderful photos.
Guests can choose to stay in one of our five elegantly decorated rooms at the Inn, or one of the four private cottages adding for an unforgettable experience. At Rowena’s Inn on the River, indulgence is a way of life. Secluded on a lush 160-acre estate, Rowena’s evokes an atmosphere of understated elegance.
Large windows bathe the European-infused elegance in natural light and the furniture exemplifies a timeless stylishness. Pretty Estates Resort’s outstanding personalized service and attention to detail has become an unquestioned hallmark.
This Valentines, guests can choose between a cozy room at the historical Rowena’s Inn on the River or a luxurious, rustic cabin. Final touches include a real wood-burning fireplace, complimentary sparkling wine, a deluxe fruit and cheese platter, a dozen long-stemmed roses and Pretty Estate’s signature homemade breakfast. The home made breakfast comes in a charming basket delivered to the room that includes a hearty serving of eggs, bacon, freshly baked breads, fresh orange juice, and herbed potatoes.
Each couple will also receive a souvenir bottle from Domaine De Chaberton, a gift-wrapped box of handmade chocolates and a “welcome card” containing $50 worth of “Romance Rewards” to be used at River’s Edge Restaurant. River’s Edge Restaurant is a charming restaurant that has a real fire place, and a menu that will have a Surf and Turf featuring tenderloin cooked to one’s liking coupled with prawns and scallops. A delicious end to that meal is a chocolate hazelnut parfait for two. On February 14, Chef will be preparing a 4-course dinner where guests can choose between Escargot Wellington, Aragosta Capelli D’Angelo Rosé or Duck Confit. This French inspired dinner will be a mouth-watering dining experience by candlelight and fireside.
The Valentines Package is available from Friday, February 8th to Monday, February 18, starting at only $250/couple.
By car, Pretty Estates Resort is only 1.5 hrs east of Vancouver and 35 minutes north of Abbotsford. Complete with its own 2,100 ft air strip, Pretty Estates is a 20-30 minute flight from downtown Vancouver.
