IT WAS a fun lunch as Aura by Swarovski, the brand’s first foray into perfumes, played host to 10 beautiful and inspiring women handpicked by the brand. Swarovski invited 10 of Manila’s inspirational ladies, women of light and love, as people like to say, to a very decadent luncheon set at one of the country’s most respected establishments, the Old Manila of the Hotel Peninsula Manila.

“Swarovski wanted to get a great group of girls together, each successful in their own given fields, equally talented, equally beautiful, each the embodiment of what the Aura by Swarovski woman is all about” says Celine Gabriel Lim, of ARC Marketing and PR.

Movie star Heart Evangelista; television’s latest sensation Say Alonzo; journalist, Lifestyle Asia editor and Sun.Star’s very own Heidi Ng; accessory designer Nicole Whisenhunt; bag designer Andrea Martel of Gabriel *Martel; Plana Forma’s Tina Lagdameo; Cura V’s Camille Ongpauco; shoe designer Emi Jorge; interior designer Tricia Calma; and last but not the least, Hollywood based, international singer, Marie Digby, were the guests of honor of this luncheon hosted by ARC Marketing & PR for Aura by Swarovski.

As part of the group of inspiration women picked by Swarovski, I was part of this memorable luncheon that extended up to four hours. At this time, flights by Philippine Airlines were very delayed because they were having labor problems that they had to make me ride Zest Air back to Manila.

Fortunately, I made it to lunch while the girls haven’t started with lunch and were just chit chatting and trying on Aura by Swarovski on their wrists. We feasted on a wonderfully prepared menu of korobuta-scallop and lobster which had the right tanginess and saltiness. Old Manila’s best seller, an a personal favorite of mine, the truffle scented mushroom cappuccino, was served as our soup, much to my delight.

Australian veal and Atlantic cod and tiger prawns was our main course and you can just imagine how tender the veal was. Our wonderful meal was capped with a serving of Peninsula’s fragrant Vanilla crème brulee. Chocolate truffles and pralines accompanied our tea of choice as we continued till almost 3 a.m. at Old Manila’s private room.

At the end of our long extended lunch, each of us was given a bottle of this feminine perfume.

According to Jenny Yrasuegui, “Aura by Swarovski is fruity, floral, sexy and very feminine. Characteristics of which, we believe, all of these girls have.”
