Roxas explains why LP snubbed Cebu mayor

CEBU CITY – After more than a month, the Liberal Party (LP) finally answered questions why it dropped Mayor Michael Rama and chose Representative Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) as its mayoral bet for the 2013 elections.

During his short visit to Cebu City last Friday, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II explained that Osmeña gained the LP’s support because he was the one who first supported his tandem with President Benigno Aquino III, who was then a senator, during the 2010 elections. Type O banners persist in city

DESPITE Cebu City Hall’s efforts to remove them, Type O streamers, posters and banners of the Ban­do Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK) can still be seen in the city.

From posts to barangay halls, Type O streamers, which herald the bid of BOPK chief Rep. Tomas Osmeña (Cebu City, south district) to run again for mayor in the 2013 elections, can also be seen this time at the One Citilink Terminal Bldg. on N. Bacalso Ave. Read the rest of this entry
