A contingent dance in honor of the sea during the 14th Dinagat Festival last Sunday. Formerly called the Bakasi Festival, Cordovanhons are proud of their fishing heritiage and they show it through the Dinagat Festival, held every August. July 29 declared holiday to observe Eid’l Fitr

MANILA — President Benigno Aquino III has declared July 29, Tuesday, a nationwide regular holiday in observance of Eid’l Fitr, or the end of Ramadhan. The President made the announcement through Proclamation No. 826 on Monday. Aquino said the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr. Read more

Panagbenga Festival 2014 opens

The long weekend will definitely be fun-filled for residents and tourists with 11 participating schools highlighting the opening Panagbenga 2014 festivities today.

Chinese New Year 2014

OTHERS call it the Lunar New Year, in China it is called the Spring Festival, and the majority recognize it as the Chinese New Year – few days from now till the redolence of the spirit of the centuries-old celebration will be experienced once again this January 31st.
