CEBU Provincial Election Supervisor Lionel Marco Castillano has asked the Commission on Elections (Comelec) 7 to clarify a resolution that requires barangays to give P10,000 to their Comelec offices.

INSTEAD of 11 floors, the new headquarters of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Pasay City will only be seven floors as the poll body has used up a portion of its savings for the conduct of the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls next month.

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) extended the filing period of the certificate of candidacy (COC) for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections from three days to six days.
According to Comelec Resolution 9761, the filing is set on Oct. 11-17 instead of the earlier schedule, which was from Oct. 15 to 17. No filing of certificate of candidacies, however, is allowed on Oct. 13, a Sunday. Read the rest of this entry
NEGROS OCCIDENTAL voters for the October 28 barangay elections are up by 3.82 percent compared to those who participated in the Last May 13 elections.
