Comelec extends filing of COCs

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) extended the filing period of the certificate of candidacy (COC) for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections from three days to six days.

According to Comelec Resolution 9761, the filing is set on Oct. 11-17 instead of the earlier schedule, which was from Oct. 15 to 17. No filing of certificate of candidacies, however, is allowed on Oct. 13, a Sunday. Read the rest of this entry

Hagedorn’s candidacy gets backing

THERE were 28 out of the 51 incumbent city and municipal mayors in Cebu Province and eight former mayors have attended the breakfast meeting with senatorial aspirant Edward Hagedorn. All of them expressed their support for Hagedorn.

Former Compostela mayor Ritchie Wagas said although the mayors came from the different political parties, including the Liberal Party (LP), majority of them are members of One Cebu and their presence in Hagedorn’s breakfast had the consent of gubernatorial candidate Rep. Lawmaker runs unopposed for a third term

FOR a politician who was just thinking of running for yet another term, suddenly being yanked out and made to battle against a congressman who carries the name of a highly-respected local leader, Davao City’s Rep. Isidro T. Ungab is not doing bad.
