“WHERE is jeepney jinggoy traveling to this year?,” was the common question I am being asked by everyone I meet.

Being referred to by my newspaper byline and online platform is kind of cool. It’s nice to know that the written experiences get its share of readers. Thank you and I do hope it inspires them to pick their bags, go to their dream destinations and come back home to relate their own inspiring stories as well.MORE

Lake S’bu: the world of water and glass

“LABINDALAWANG kabayo,” my Skylab driver assesses. This was the value in livestock, the T’boli’s accepted currency, if he bought me as wife. I would be his sixth; the latest in a collection he hopes will equal that of his father’s, who had 39.

As a joke, I demand the herd to be all white. Pure, ethereal bodies that cross between dream and wake, the line of which dims with the fog surrounding S’bu, where a man could accumulate six life partners in the same time frame that I have accumulated none.MORE

Jenel Lausa aspires to become an inspiration thru his MMA rise

FOR someone then fighting for the first time outside of the Philippines and making his UFC debut, Jenel “The Demolition Man” Lausa was a picture of a fighter who was simply ready to rise to the occasion. If he had any form of nerves, it didn’t show at all. Using his superior striking game, he dominated Yao Zhikui and earned the unanimous decision win in their flyweight showdown at UFC Fight Night: Whittaker vs Brunson in Melbourne, Australia, back in November.

Lausa notched his first win inside The Octagon and now rides a 5-fight winning streak in professional mixed martial arts (MMA). It also bookended a good year for Lausa in the world of combat sports. He won a regional MMA title earlier this year and a Philippine boxing title prior to his UFC call up. After his successful debut in the world’s premiere MMA organization, Lausa says, he wants to make the most out of the opportunity.

It has been a huge dream to get into the UFC and as he continues to fight, he hopes to be an inspiration to others-especially those from his hometown of Concepcion, Iloilo.

Lausa narrates that people from his hometown aren’t strangers to the concept of fighting — it’s what they do every day to make ends meet — something he himself lived through.MORE

2017 Planning Tips

WE ARE now down to the last few days of 2016. Where did this year go?! I can’t believe that it’s almost 2017 already!

I am always ecstatic with the coming of the New Year and it gets me into the mood for planning and setting goals for my year.

This 2017 is my second year of using a planner (religiously) because I often get lazy during the middle of the year and just leave it unfilled but I have improved now. And because I am currently starting to fill up my new planner for next year, I thought, why not share some easy planning ideas with you?

Mark the important dates

Birthdays/Anniversaries – I suck at remembering this (sorry friends) so that’s the first dates that I mark, I used to do this monthly but I think that it is much better to do it for the whole year so that you won’t forget to greet anyone.

Holidays – This makes vacation planning so much easier.

Miscellaneous – Just like the showing of your favorite TV shows or movie that you wanna see.MORE
