RAFAEL Nebres, the incumbent president of the Bicol Canada Community Association Inc., is calling and appealing to all Bicolanos in Canada to attend the association’s election of new set of officers on February 16.
The election will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the social hall (basement) of the Our Lady of Assumption Church, 2665 Bathurst Street, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Nebres said Bicol, or Region 5, has six provinces that include Albay, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Masbate, and Sorsogon.
He said Bicolanos are those born in any towns and barangays of the provinces mentioned, those who got married to Bicolanos and Bicolanas, and those whose fathers and mothers are from the towns and barangays within the six provinces.

FRANCISCO Abella Tan and Olga Alvarado Tan will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on January 25 (Saturday), 5 p.m., at the Ella’s Banquet Hall, 35 Danforth Road, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Rev. Fr. John Sullivan will be the officiating priest.
The bridal entourage includes Dr. Delicia A. Calbes-Bowring, Eleanor A. Calbes-Thomson, and Liesel Tan-Aguila as matrons of honor, and Francis Rommel Tan as the best man.
The flower girl will be Ella Sophia Tan, while ring bearer will be Lucas Solomon Tan. Coin bearer will be Samantha Trisha Habib.
Claudine Bernice Aguila, Nancy Regine Tan, Sharmina Habib, and Clarine Veronica Aguila will be the bride’s maids.
The ushers will be Frank Omar Tan and Bradford Tan.
To light the path of the celebrants are Jose Donato Aguila and Jocelyn Tan.
Francis Ramses Tan and Myla Melissa Tan will bind them together. Aftabul Habib and Vanessa Tan-Habib will clothe them together.
