7 rivers in Cebu City ‘shrinking’

THE width of the Bulacao River, Tagunol Waterway, Kinalumsan River, Guadalupe River, Estero Pari-an, Lahug River and Mahiga River, all in Cebu City, has been reduced, with some by more than half its original size. So when there’s a heavy downpour, like last Saturday when many streets were covered in knee-deep water, the rivers overflow.

Aquino urged to undergo medical check-up

AFTER his coughing episodes during his State of the Nation Address (Sona), President Benigno Aquino III is now being encouraged to undergo physical check-up by the Philippine Medical Association (PMA).

In a statement, PMA president Dr. Leo Olarte said they are calling on the President to undergo a check-up immediately in order to appease worried Filipinos on the possible health condition of their president.

“We urge him to immediately consult his physician so that the country can all be assured that our president is in good condition to perform his job as mandated by our people,” said Olarte.
