Motorists advised of QC traffic plan for Sona

THE Quezon City Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit has advised motorists passing through Commonwealth Avenue to observe the traffic route on Monday, July 22, for the fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) of President Benigno Aquino III.

At midnight Monday, only two leftmost lanes of Commonwealth Avenue northbound will be opened for motorists going to Fairview.

At 5 a.m., the northbound area between Ever Gotesco Mall and the Commission on Audit (COA) building will be closed to motorists. Upon reaching the U-turn slot in front of Superstar KTV, motorists will be rerouted to take the southbound lanes until they reach the U-turn slot at San Simon after COA building. Read more

Cebu prelate gives Aquino to-do list

GOING into the second half of his term, President Benigno Aquino III might want to take note of what Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma thinks he should do.

The president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said Aquino’s job is far from being done as several matters continue to be wanting of his attention and solution.

“On their own end, may sinasabi sila na mga magandang nagagawa pero yung sa CBCP naman, may mga komentaryo na hindi naman ganyan lang dapat ang pagtingin,” said Palma.Read more

Protesters gear up for Aquino’s fourth Sona

PRESIDENT Benigno Aquino III will be portrayed by a militant group as a 13-feet high giant paper mache feasting on a banquet on his fourth State of the Nation Address (Sona) on Monday.

The banquet, however, is only limited to Aquino’s “small circle of guests as the people wait for crumbs falling from the table,” said Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan), which was barred from going near the Batasan Pambansa Complex, where Aquino is set to deliver his report to the nation.
