‘No more extortion from bets in Cebu’

AT least seven alleged election-related incidents have been reported in Cebu Province so far, but there are no reported extortion activities.

Hagedorn’s candidacy gets backing

THERE were 28 out of the 51 incumbent city and municipal mayors in Cebu Province and eight former mayors have attended the breakfast meeting with senatorial aspirant Edward Hagedorn. All of them expressed their support for Hagedorn.

Former Compostela mayor Ritchie Wagas said although the mayors came from the different political parties, including the Liberal Party (LP), majority of them are members of One Cebu and their presence in Hagedorn’s breakfast had the consent of gubernatorial candidate Rep. 100 troops sent to secure Biliran polls

KANANGA, LEYTE – At least 100 soldiers were dispatched by the 19th Infantry Battalion (19th IB) to boost the number of government forces who shall secure the upcoming May 2013 elections in Biliran.

Distribution of PCOS to polling places on

THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Davao Region, in coordination with Air21, the 10th Infantry Division (10th ID) of the Philippine Army, and Police Regional Office (PRO) are deploying 3,501 Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines to different polling centers in the region.

Comelec assistant regional director Lawyer Jose Villanueva, in an interview in the sidelines of the Regional Joint Security Coordinating Council (RJSCC) meeting at Camp Catitipan on Thursday, said the transport of these PCOS machines are now in progress. Read the rest of this entry
