Comelec official’s house strafed

THE police are conducting thorough investigation to identify the lone gunman who strafed the residence of an election officer in Zamboanga del Norte, an official said Wednesday.

Poll officer bares ‘prohibited acts’ during campaign period

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The provincial election officer explained Wednesday the various forms of election propaganda that are prohibited come election period.

In a latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey on preferred 2013 senatorial candidates conducted on January 17 to 19, members of the administration coalition entered the so-called “Magic 12″ but none of these bets are part of the ruling Liberal Party (LP), which President Benigno Aquino III chairs. Governor Lilia Pineda has enjoined all candidates in Pampanga province to work hard for peaceful elections, during the covenant signing held at the San Guillermo Parish Church in this town Tuesday.

According to Pineda, she signed the treaty as a manifestation of her serious advocacy to make Pampanga the most peaceful province during the campaign and election periods.
