SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union — The local police here has announced the formulation of Regional Special Operation Task Groups (RSOTGs) for the three provinces earlier tagged by the Department of Interior and Local Government as priority election watch list areas.
Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II had identified 15 provinces all over the country as election areas of concern, three of which are in Ilocos Region. These are the provinces of Ilocos Sur, La Union and Pangasinan. Read the rest of this entry

MANILA (Updated 4:05 p.m.) — President Benigno Aquino III on Friday visited areas in Mindanao that were devastated by Typhoon “Pablo” (international name: Bopha) that hit the country earlier this week.
Aquino arrived at Davao International Airport around 10:30 a.m. and proceeded to his first stop in Barangay Cabinuan in New Bataan, Compostela Valley, where he led the distribution of relief goods.(READ MORE)
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Pampanga Provincial Government launched on Thursday its opening of the 441st Aldo Ning Kapampangan by bringing together the various festival dances in the province in one celebration of local history.
Dubbed as “Pamamupul” (Harvest) Festival, the event featured dances from Pampanga’s rich traditional ritual celebrations of Sasmuan’s Kuraldal to the local government-invented dance celebrations of recent times.
Governor Lilia Pineda said the event aimed at providing people with the opportunity to see festival dances in one celebration as part of the overall celebration of the province’s founding anniversary. [Read more]
