Prosecution spokespersons release SALNs

True to their word, two other spokespersons of the impeachment prosecution team voluntarily released their 2011 statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs) one week after the ouster of Chief Justice Renato Corona.

House Deputy Majority Leader Romero Frederico “Miro” Quimbo and Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara earlier hesitated to provide copies of their SALNs to media to avoid sidetracking the impeachment trial of the former chief magistrate. (Read more)

JBC receives 3 nominees for next Chief Justice

The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) received Thursday nominations for a woman’s rights advocate, a state lawyer and a former law school dean, a day after formally opening nominations for the Chief Justice post.

The three nominees were lawyer Katrina Legarda, Solicitor General Francis Jardeleza and Cesar Villaneuva, dean emeritus of the Ateneo Law School. (Read more)
